SYATP

See You at the Pole

See You at the Pole (SYATP) is a nation-wide prayer initiative that began around 10 years ago in Burleson, TX (a suburb of Fort Worth). Each year hundreds of thousands of teenagers gather around their flagpoles on the 3rd Wednesday of September and pray for their nation, their school, their school administration, and their peers. It is an awesome event that is organized entirely by students in each school. Last year, Herrin High School students put together a wonderful SYATP  at 7:30 a.m. at the school flag pole. This event was sponsored by FCA.

SYATP Prayer Walk and Pre-pole Rally

In addition to the activities of that Wednesday morning at the schools,  youth ministers in Y-Net (youth network) from the Herrin-Carterville area sponsored a prayer walk and pre-pole rally for Sunday night. During this event, students gathered at the south parking lot of Herrin High School, participated in the prayer walk, and had a time of praise and worship. This event was a tremendous success. Around 75 people came and participated.
